Blake comes to us from Aspen, Colorado, where he coached the U20 Leaf's to 3 League Titles & 3 State Finalist; he was also the Development Director for the Aspen Junior Hockey Association.
It is our goal to provide a competitive hockey experience for players who have focus, determination and who know what it takes to develop their skills. At SESHC, we believe that everyone should play at or above their skill level without the influence of others.
110% EFFORT 110% of the time
Select's Hockey sets its performance standard at '110% effort' This means MAX effort, always, in everything. All players and coaches are held to this standard.
You may not be able to control much in this game of life, BUT the one thing you can always control is your effort
If you hustle for us, we will hustle for you. That is a promise.
We will do everything in our power to open doors for players that wish to achieve the next level of hockey. We have fostered many relations ships with Junior A, CSSHL, NA3HL, Junior B, NJHL, BCHL, SJHL and many more hockey associations and can help you source camp invites - aside from the ones you may source organically just from playing in the PHL. We can only assist in getting you to the door...the rest is on you.
Do we want you to stay and play with SESHC forever? of course we do, BUT we would LOVE to see you move on to a higher tier for sure! We absolutely promote player movement; so much so that we will help you develop your skills in order to get there.
At SESHC you are here for the full meal deal. All off ice development is NOT optional. From team building, to dryland, fitness and nutrition, classroom and video review, it takes more than just hockey practice to develop as an elite player.
We will make mistakes throughout the season, but will will still persevere. How? We believe this is doable within the use of accountability & consequences for actions (both positive and negative) and outlining expectations at every opportunity.
We believe in coaching with the explanation of 'why' we do this instead of the 'do this because I said so' attitude.
Positive attitudes, gestures, continual focus, going the extra mile etc. will be recognized and even rewarded. Negative actions will have consequences. ( our currency tends to be ice time)
This is how we learn.
